Dominic Heim is a young filmmaker and photographer who has been working in the film and advertising industry since 2018. He started as a lighting technician for various film and TV productions in Germany and Switzerland. Dominic quickly built a strong network of contacts and soon landed projects in the German music industry, where he developed his first independent lighting concepts as a lighting designer. Always seeking new challenges, he continuously learns new techniques and embraces the digital age. These include programming lights via DMX and, since 2022, working with Virtual Production, where the real and virtual worlds merge. Together with a large team of freelancers and partners like NANLUX and SUMOLIGHT, Dominic is well-equipped to take on projects of any kind. He has now worked on various advertising and TV series productions.

In addition to his passion for moving images, Dominic also has a deep love for photography. Since childhood, he has been fascinated by cameras. Initially, he focused on photographing the nature around his hometown. However, when he moved to Berlin, he discovered street photography, which greatly influenced his style. He describes his photos as “a blend of reportage and cinematic.”

Dominic Heim was born in 1999 into a family of restaurateurs and grew up near Chemnitz. Early on, he realized that he did not want to follow in the footsteps of his parents and brother. His passion for photography was too strong. At 17, Dominic decided to move to Berlin to “do something with media.” He began training as a media designer and quickly established himself in the Berlin film industry.
